WG 9:  Venture capital and blending – how venture capital investors in developing countries can collaborate with foundations and other sources of blended finance for agri-investments

Blended finance is about the optimal allocation of risk capital, to crowd in as much funding as possible for –in this case– agricultural projects.  Venture capital firms have a particular risk appetite and often, a relatively long time horizon, and for these reasons they are well-placed to unlock early-stage, innovative agricultural ventures that would fall outside of the parameters acceptable for other financiers. In this panel, organized by Aspada Investment Advisors, several venture capital financiers as well as investee firms will come together to discuss how the particular perspective of VC firms can open up new opportunities for blended finance.
