It manages US$100 million across two investment vehicles: SONG, a collaboration between the Soros Economic Development Fund, Omidyar Network and Google, created to catalyse underinvested sectors; and Aspada I, anchored by the Soros Economic Development Fund, which is a first-mover in patient, alternate fund structures aimed at creating a next generation of canonical businesses. Aspada invests in home-grown business models that address the unmet needs of the middle of the pyramid by adopting a full-stack approach, and are committed to solving India’s hardest problems in a capital efficient manner at scale. Within agriculture and logistics, it focuses on supply-chain and financing companies, as well as productivity enhancing businesses across grains and horticulture. The firm seeks to invest between $0.5 million and $5 million and is headquartered in Bangalore, India.
