Paul is a Principal Advisor in Corporate and International Tax Division of Revenue Group at the Australian Treasury. In this role he works on international tax policy issues, including international cooperation through the G20 and OECD on issues such as common reporting standard, base erosion and profit shifting.

Prior to joining the Treasury, Paul spent a number of years working at the European Commission in Brussels dealing with the infrastructure challenges of the EU. He focused in particular on developing innovative financial solutions to encourage greater participation of the private sector in EU infrastructure projects. Before this Paul worked for the European Defence Agency on improving synergies in defence budgets and ensuring greater industrial defence competition in the EU’s internal market. Prior to this Paul worked in the private sector as an economist for the aerospace industry. Paul has an economics background having completed a BSc in Economics at the University of Wales, an MA at the University of Liverpool in the UK and an MBA from Vlerick Business School in Belgium.
