Prior to joining Unitus Impact in 2012, Samir worked at Developing World Markets (DWM), an asset management firm based in New York where he originated debt and equity transactions for microfinance institutions based in SE Asia and Latin America.
Prior to DWM, Samir completed a 20-month fellowship with Lok Capital, a venture fund based in New Delhi, India. During the fellowship, Samir worked in the finance department of Ujjivan Financial Services, one of India’s largest microfinance institutions based in Bangalore. While at Ujjivan, he was responsible for budgeting, business planning and raising capital for the company. Earlier in his career, Samir worked as a financial analyst in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs.
Samir holds an MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he is the Chairman of the the Investment Advisory Council of the UM Social Venture Fund, He has a Bachelors degree in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.
